If you’re a proud puppy parent, then you must be aware of what a handful they are! When I first decided to adopt huskies, the only problem I thought I’d have was with training them, boy was I wrong. Trust me, I own 2 beautiful huskies and I think the biggest problem I face is with their diet. It’s not about what they choose to eat but rather that they eat EVERYTHING!
Dogs will eat whatever comes in front of them but that doesn’t mean it’ll be good for them. As a parent, it’s your duty to fuss over them and make sure they get on the right diet.
Each dog has their own specific type of diet and a specific quantity of food that they should eat. However, it is your job to feed your dog. No matter what breed, the following foods are acceptable:
Bones – Most people have trouble accepting this, but bones are actually good for your dog. You need to make sure you’re feeding them raw bones and don’t ever overdo it! Too much raw bones can lead to constipation. And, do NOT give them chicken bones, because they sliver really easily.
Peanut Butter – They love it, and it’s the perfect treat for them! Remember not to go beyond the occasional teaspoon though, and you’ll be good.
Green Beans – They’re nutritious and perfect for the little devils. Make sure they’re unsalted, un-canned and fresh.
Eggs – They’re perfect snacks for your pooch! With adequate amounts of fat and proteins, they’re excellent for puppy health. Make sure the egg is cooked and not raw; this could lead to a lot of problems.
Remember: Avoid table scraps!
What most people don’t know is that dogs may be carnivores but they can also have an omnivorous diet. I, myself, found out after I became a puppy parent. I feed my dogs these foods all the time; it keeps them healthy and happy!
