Safest Ways to Transport & Board Your Pet

If you are going to take your pet with you on a trip, keep one simple thing in mind: make sure your pet is safe and comfortable. Follow that rule, and you won’t go wrong!

Here are some tips to help make it easier on everyone!

Your dog goes in a crate while, if you own a cat, they are going to be safely protected in a carrier. It is safer to carry your pet this way since they will be anchored with a seat belt, so they won’t bounce around. They will also be better protected, in case of an accident or crash.

If you are traveling by car, then it is best that you put the carrier/crate and your pet in the back seat of the car. If they are in the passenger seat, the deploying air bag might injure your pet if you are in an accident.

If you are going by plane, then try to take an airline that will let your pet travel with you in the cabin. Usually, an additional fee is all they require to allow that. Even so, call the airline and confirm it before you report there for boarding! If you have more than one pet, then ask them if there is a limit to the number of pets that one can have in the cabin. There are size limitations for dogs, so you might want to check that out if you are going to be flying with one.

Even with all these tips, a trip might not be as comfy for your pet as it should be. It might be difficult for you to leave your furry darling behind. Remember that pets are often most comfortable when left at home!
