Adventuring With Your Cat

adventurecat

I have always been keen on adventures and, when I became a proud mommy to my beautiful fur baby, I initially felt the need to cut down on the constant travels. But eventually it occurred to me, why wasn’t I simply taking my cat with me? After all, aren’t they supposed to have an innate sense of adventure? (This may not apply to all cats, by the way ;))

I must admit, it wasn’t easy in the beginning because I didn’t know how to prepare for a kitty adventure but eventually I got the hang of it. If you’re a cat parent too, here are a few things I tried that helped my kitty with the adventures:

Start with leash training!

Cats absolutely hate being held down but this is a necessity to prevent your baby from getting lost. It’s going to take time but eventually they’ll get used to it, just make sure you get a professional trainer to help you if you aren’t feeling up to it.

Do a test run

Start by taking them on short adventures to the park. This will adjust them to the change and you’ll even find out if it’s something your cat will like to do.

Carriers

Wherever you go, the carrier will ultimately be your kitty’s home which is why you need to make sure it’s very comfortable! Just do a little adjustments and maybe even add a few papers for scratching as well. Just keep in mind that if your kitty isn’t happy then you’ll probably have a bad time and they’ll never want to go again.

Hydration

Make sure your cat is constantly hydrated because the heat and adventure combined often is too much for them.

Now, go out and enjoy some adventures with your pet!!
